Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and has the record of being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to be Romania's gymnastics coach. Comaneci participated for the first time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. The first time she competed in an international event, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver in her senior debut international competition that took place in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as a senior. The first female to perform a reverse double salo on the parallel bar that was uneven when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. In her teens, she began performing in travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry during her teenage year. When she was a child, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. They featured dramatic skating on ice shows.
